A key part of our mission at the Library & Archives is to provide space for dialogue and reflection on the evolution of multilateralism. As part of our partnership with the META-UN project, led by HUM:Global - University of Copenhagen and the 4EU+ Alliance to strengthen science-policy exchange with the UN, we hosted the first in a new series of roundtables on "The State of Multilateralism".
Academics and practitioners from several fields came together at the United Nations Office at Geneva on 27 January 2026 to look at multilateralism from multiple perspectives: tracing its historical trajectories, taking stock of the challenges facing regional and global institutions today, and imagining future scenarios for a multilateralism that serves people everywhere.
Thank you to the speakers for sharing your knowledge and research, and the project's partners (HUM:Global - University of Copenhagen, CHIOS, 4EU+ Alliance and INNER_LEAGUE: University of Copenhagen) for supporting substantive dialogue on multilateralism.
