Leading Change in United Nations Organizations

Discover our past event at the commons: This session provided a valuable learning experience on leadership for UN staff at all levels. Participants had the opportunity to join Ms. Catherine Bertini, former head of the World Food Programme, as she shared insights from her tenure in the UN system and discussed her recently published report, 'Leading Change in United Nations Organizations.' The session offered food for thought for incoming UN officials on various issues related to leadership and change.

Ms. Bertini covered a range of ideas, including the key attributes of leadership in the UN, the transition from working outside to inside the UN system, preparing for leadership positions, making difficult and principled decisions, and guidance for leading change.
