Mental Health Matters What is the UN doing to improve mental health and wellbeing for its personnel?

Discover our past event at the commons about how mental health is defined as a state of well-being in which every individual realizes their own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to their community. Mental health directly influences how we think, feel, and act. The interactive session, hosted by Therese Fitzpatrick, Global Lead for the UN’s Mental Health Strategy Implementation, was in collaboration with Human Resources and Staff Counselling and Staff Welfare teams at UN Geneva and Geneva-based UN agencies.

The session provided insights into the achievements made through the Strategy, highlighted current priority and focus areas, and discussed ideas and objectives for the future. Participants were encouraged to share their own ideas and experiences on how to work together and support the Strategy. The event aimed to make a difference in the way people work and, in turn, improve health and well-being both at work and in personal lives. This event was held at the Knowledge & Learning Commons, in collaboration with the Staff Counsellor’s Office (Human Resources Management Service) at UN Geneva and UN agency partners.
