Explore our past event in partnership with the UN Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), the Commons hosted an in-person event to discover how we can all play a role in building a more secure world and how young people can be involved in efforts to secure a more peaceful future for us all.
We had an interactive conversation with five stations, where a range of UNIDIR speakers covered key topics in international security, including issues concerning space, cyber security, artificial intelligence, nuclear weapons, and gender and disarmament.
Participants explored:
• How disarmament is changing in the 21st century
• Impacts of cyber, space, AI and nuclear technologies
• Links between development, climate change and arms control
• How youth can get involved
