Discover our past event: A century after its establishment in Geneva, the League of Nations has a compelling tale that deserves to be fully recounted! Drawing on recent research, we debunked persistent myths and misconceptions surrounding the League of Nations. The event aimed to present the genuine narrative of the League as a pioneering experiment in multilateralism, highlighting its numerous successes and enduring legacies, while also addressing why it ultimately fell short of its fundamental mission to preserve world peace.
Participants gained insights into the groundwork the League laid for the United Nations, exploring key achievements that continue to shape the world for the better, and discovering elements of the League that persist to this day. Additionally, we provided information on how to access knowledge and resources related to the League, encompassing both primary and secondary sources, available right here at the UN Library & Archives Geneva.
