Adapting to Business as Unusual
Following the UN Geneva Director-General’s guidelines on the gradual return to the office in the weeks and months to come, the physical return to the workplace may bring up mixed feelings for many. Whilst some are excited at the prospect of returning, others may find that they are faced with a feeling of uncertainty on what our new reality will be like and how to adapt to changes and unknowns. Some may even feel frustrated as they want to return to work but are not yet authorized to do so. These emotions and concerns can take a toll on our mental health and wellbeing. It is therefore important that we learn how to cope with them and prepare ourselves to deal with the uncertainties we are facing together.
Since March 2020, the Commons has worked closely with the Staff Counsellors Office at UN Geneva to produce sessions to support our mental health throughout these tough times. Each session provides tips on how we can take care of ourselves, as well as our families and communities, and outlines the resources and support available to us.
