Participants were invited to join an enriching experience in learning how to collectively play the gamelan, a traditional musical ensemble instrument from Bali and Java in Indonesia. This unique event was hosted by the Knowledge & Learning Commons, in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia, the Haute école de musique de Genève, the University of Geneva, and the "Un, Deux, Trois, Musiques..." school.
The gamelan, with its rich cultural significance, emphasizes a team dimension, requiring coordinated efforts for a song to be realized. Participants had the opportunity to engage in this collective musical endeavor, discovering the intricate beauty of the gamelan and experiencing the importance of listening to each other and working together to create harmonious melodies. The event celebrated cultural diversity and collaboration, bringing together individuals from different backgrounds to share in the joy of playing this traditional Indonesian musical instrument.
