HiStories - Fighting Against Slavery: Multilateral efforts from the League of Nations to the SDGs.

As we recently marked the 70th anniversary of the entry into force of the 1953 Protocol of the Slavery Convention, this HiStories episode delves into multilateral efforts to fight slavery, from the League of Nations to the UN 2030 Agenda.

We explore with experts the relevance of multilateral cooperation in fighting modern slavery, and highlight how SDG target 8.7 represents a unique opportunity to eradicate slavery, traffic in persons and forced labour.

Joining us are:

Jean Allain, Professor of international law and Associate Dean (International), Monash University.

Alix Nasri, Technical Specialist on Forced Labour, International Labour Organization (ILO).

Yan Xu, Master’s student, Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva

Marie Holch, Master’s student, Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva.
