Recent advances of Artificial Intelligence (AI), are expected to leverage important, if not disruptive, improvements in almost all dimensions of warfare, including missile defence, electronic warfare and cyber warfare.

They are also expected to generate new strategic challenges and unprecedented nuclear risks, while also potentially offering positive developments in terms of transparency and verification.

This event draws on the publication of a series of SIPRI reports that map out and compare regional perspectives on the topic.

A panel of highly respected experts from Europe, the USA, East Asia and South Asia will discuss how the AI could impact the field of nuclear weapons and doctrine, strategic stability and nuclear risk at the regional and transregional levels and what measures states and the international security community could explore to prevent and mitigate these challenges and risks.

This event is held at the Knowledge and Learning Commons in collaboration with SIPRI - The Stockholm Institute.
