Discover our previous event held on Thursday, December 3rd, at 4 pm, organized by the Staff Counsellor’s Office, HRMS at the UN Geneva. With the winter months and the holiday season approaching, the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic was escalating. How could we manage these uncertain times? Our guest speaker, Dr. Alexina Mehta from Canada, imparted insights into the science of resilience and adaptability, and how to enhance these two qualities within oneself. The session also examined various tools to assist you in navigating the uncertainties of the times we lived in with greater ease and confidence.
The session focused on the neurobiology of adaptation and resilience; the science of hope and its effect on resilience; and inspiration and lessons from those who have survived great challenges. The pillars of resilience — which include self-awareness, understanding, self-care, beneficial relationships, purpose and impact — as well as comprehensive self-care tips to support well-being from around the world, were also explored and shared.
