The future of translation - Picture by Judy Hajoud Fadel-Ostojic
The replay is available here: https://youtu.be/kd82vKaet8g
Specifically, the session is intended to enhance understanding on:
- How our culture influences our way to translate
- The challenges in the translation process to achieve accuracy
- How AI techniques facilitate the work of language professionals
- How UN translation has evolved in the last 30 years
The Knowledge and Learning Commons (KLC), in collaboration with the Division of Conference Management (DCM), welcome UN staff and external audiences to an ad-hoc session to raise awareness on the key challenges and evolution of translation and to examine the innovations in the sector, such as machine translation. The event will make specific use of the findings from the academic field (University of Geneva), the innovations of the scientific community and the experience gained at the Languages Service at the United Nations.
